Boy Scouts of America Prepared for Life

Boy Scout Troop 174

Boy Scout Troop 174 offers a year-round adventure-based program designed to encourage effective character, citizenship, and fitness training for boys age 11-17.

In addition to camping, scouts and adult leaders enjoy activities such as camping, rock-climbing and rappelling, canoeing, target-shooting, visits Washington DC, Gettysburg PA, and more while accommodating the needs of today’s busy families.  Boy Scout Meetings are held every Monday Evening at 7:00pm at the Livonia Primary Cafeteria.

Scouting Events

The past year has taken us on many camp outs, white-water rafting, high peak climbing, and a week-long camp in the Adirondacks in the world famous Massawepie Boy Scout camp.  Every year we try to squeeze in biking, hiking, canoeing, rock climbing, wilderness survival camping, outdoor cooking, rifle and shotgun shooting events, and orienteering.

Our Troop History

Livonia Boy Scout Troop 174 has a long proud history of camping, building character, providing adventure.  Livonia scouting has been preparing young men to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law since 1926.  Former members of Troop 174 have grown to become good citizens and leaders in the community.

Merit Badges

Merit badges are awards earned by youth members of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), based on activities within an area of study by completing a list of periodically updated requirements. The purpose of the merit badge program is to allow Scouts to examine subjects to determine if they would like to further pursue them as a career or a vocation.
